The story of the Chintan shirt is a lovely one that you can check out on Kardo's website, essentially named after a man who walked into their shop in New Delhi wearing a vintage shirt from Tokyo, the two became friends and they literally took the shirt off his back to use as inspiration.
This fabric is woven on a handloom using an extra weft technique, which is a discontinuous weft technique of weaving. In this technique, motifs are inlaid into the fabric by adding a denser thread to warp by hand. This process is extremely difficult and time consuming, involving extremely skilled textile artisans.
